Newborn Nanny Needed

Location: Hancock Park, Los Angeles, CA (Required)

Compensation: $30-35/h - Paid via Zelle or Venmo. 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–5:30 PM for now. Starting September 21, 2026 it'll be 9AM-6PM. Occasional longer days for work events. Occasional Saturdays for date nights. Flexibility is required.

Vacation/PTO: Either MLK or Presidents’ Day. Please let us know your selection

2 weeks paid vacation (10 days) annually

1 week (5 days) of your choice with at least 1-2 months prior notice to and 1 week (5 days) designated by our family, which will typically coincide with a family vacation when childcare is not needed. We will provide as much advance notice as possible.

About the Role

A very warm and welcoming private family in Hancock Park is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and highly proactive Newborn Nanny to care for their first baby. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a professional nanny who is passionate about newborn care and wants to become a trusted and valued part of a family.

The parents are busy professionals with demanding careers, but they are warm, kind, down-to-earth, and genuinely appreciative of the people they bring into their home. They are looking for someone who is communicative, reliable, proactive, and genuinely invested in their baby’s wellbeing and development.

The ideal candidate will treat nannying as more than simply a job and take genuine pride in caring for the baby. The family seeks a nanny who will form a meaningful bond with their child, become part of their household, and build a long-term relationship with the family.

The baby currently has some neck tightness and a flat spot on his head and will be receiving physical therapy. The nanny should be comfortable following the parents’ and physical therapist’s recommendations and incorporating prescribed exercises into the baby’s daily routine.

Mom returns to work in six weeks, so the family needs someone who can provide consistency and become a trusted presence in the baby’s life.

Responsibilities

-Provide loving, attentive, and hands-on care for a newborn-Manage feeding, diapering, naps, and the baby’s daily routine-Support the baby’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs-Follow physical therapy recommendations and exercises as directed by the parents and therapist-Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the baby’s day, needs, and development-Proactively anticipate the baby’s needs and take initiative throughout the day-Take the baby on walks, outings, appointments, and age-appropriate activities-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for the baby-Organize the baby’s clothing, drawers, and closet-Manage the baby’s laundry and put clothing away-Keep toys, books, and baby belongings organized-Wash and organize bottles, dishes, and feeding supplies-Monitor baby supplies and communicate when items need to be replenished-Prepare and organize the baby’s belongings for outings and travel-Maintain the nursery and baby’s spaces to a high standard-Travel with the family as needed-Be available for occasional longer days due to work events and occasional Saturday date nights-Assist with light family food preparation while the baby is sleeping, if desired and mutually agreed upon

Qualifications

-Minimum 6 years of professional nanny experience-Extensive newborn experience required-Experience supporting infant development and/or working alongside physical therapists is a plus-Strong understanding of newborn care, routines, and developmental milestones-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills-Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented-Professional, discreet, and highly dependable-Comfortable working with first-time parents and following established routines and preferences-Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and reliable vehicle required-Comfortable traveling with the family-Long-term commitment preferred-Flexible and willing to accommodate occasional schedule changes
